Choose your AI client

Use the same official endpoint in both clients. The screens differ, but both finish by opening Orca's OAuth sign-in.

ChatGPT

Add Orca as a custom MCP app. Some plans or workspaces require developer mode to be enabled first.

  1. Open ChatGPT Settings, then Apps.
  2. Enable developer mode if your workspace requires it.
  3. Create a custom app and name it Orca.
  4. Paste https://app.orcaclient.com/api/mcp as the MCP server URL.
  5. Connect, sign in to Orca, and select Allow.
  6. In chat, add Orca from the tools menu or mention the app.

Workspace plans may require an administrator to enable custom MCP apps before the Create option appears.

Claude and Claude Desktop

Add Orca as a remote custom connector. Do not place this remote endpoint in claude_desktop_config.json.

  1. Open Claude Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Select Add custom connector.
  3. Name the connector Orca.
  4. Paste https://app.orcaclient.com/api/mcp as the remote MCP server URL.
  5. Leave manual OAuth client fields empty.
  6. Connect, sign in to Orca, and select Allow.

Remote custom connectors require a supported Claude plan. Organization owners may need to enable them first.

Troubleshooting

If the connection does not appear

Most setup problems come from plan availability, workspace policy, or an incomplete OAuth session.

  • Confirm the endpoint exactly matches https://app.orcaclient.com/api/mcp.
  • Finish Orca sign-in and select Allow.
  • Check plan and workspace connector permissions.
  • Remove the connector, then add it again.

Do I need an Orca API key?

No. Leave manual OAuth client fields empty when your client shows them. Orca uses the standard OAuth flow and asks you to sign in.

Why does ChatGPT not show custom apps?

Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. A workspace administrator may need to enable developer mode or custom MCP apps.

Why does Claude not show Add custom connector?

Remote custom connectors require a supported Claude plan. Team and Enterprise organizations may also require an owner to enable the connector.
