How Orca works

Create a Minecraft server, browse mods and modpacks, and ask the AI admin about your server. Here is what works today and what is on the way.

Overview

Orca is an AI-first Minecraft host. You sign in with Google or Discord, pick a size, and Orca boots a real server on Azure in about 30 seconds. Servers run Paper, Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge. Bedrock crossplay on Paper is a Pro+ add-on. From there you browse a catalogue of 39,000+ projects and chat with Orca about your server.

Quickstart

  1. 1Open the Orca app and sign in with Google or Discord. No card, no setup form.
  2. 2Pick a size and region. The free plan is 1 GB for up to 4 players.
  3. 3Orca boots a real server in about 30 seconds and hands you a join address like your-server.orc.host.
  4. 4Share the address with your friends and hop in. A free server pauses when no one's online and wakes when you start it. Your world is kept. Upgrade any time for an always-on server.

Browse & host

Browse indexes 39,000+ Minecraft projects, mostly from Modrinth: mods, modpacks, plugins, data packs, resource packs, and shaders. Search and filter by type, loader (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt, Paper) and category, and sort by downloads or newest.

Click Host with Orca on any project to start a server set up for it. You sign in, land on the create wizard with that project picked, and Orca selects the matching loader automatically (Paper for plugins, Fabric for Fabric mods). Create the server and you land in the console with the project ready to set up.

Heads up

Host with Orca boots a server of the right type for your pick. Once you are in the console, ask Orca to install that mod or modpack and it drops onto your running server (paid plans).

Ask Orca

Every server has a chat with Orca, your AI admin. Type what you want in plain English. The free plan uses a fast model; paid plans use the premium model. Each action spends credits (see Plans & credits). Here is what Orca can do today:

Answer questions about your serverAsk how things are set up or what to do next. Plain chat costs 1 credit.
Read your player analyticsRetention, top players, traffic sources, and revenue, pulled live from your data.
Check a health scoreA fast pulse-check on your server before you dig into anything.
Set up alertsGet pinged when something needs attention. Orca saves the rule for you.
Track where players come fromTag traffic sources so you can see which video or post actually landed players.
Install a curated presetAsk for crossplay, anti-bot, performance, or world protection and Orca installs the right bundle (included on free).
Install any mod, modpack, or pluginName a mod, a Modrinth or CurseForge modpack, or a plugin and Orca installs it onto your running server (paid plans).
Generate a custom pluginDescribe a feature and Orca writes a Spigot plugin in Java, compiles it to a .jar, and deploys it onto your running server (paid plans).
Start, stop, or restart your serverControl the server from chat and read the live logs without leaving the console.
Change version or loaderUpgrade a version or switch loaders from chat and Orca rolls it out to the running server.

Plans & credits

One clean ladder from free to 32 GB. Full details are on the pricing page.

Starter4 GB20$20/mo100 / 4h
Builder8 GB40$40/mo200 / 4h

Paid credits refill on a rolling 4-hour window; the free plan's credits reset daily. Different actions cost different amounts: a chat message is 1, reading analytics is 4, and generating a custom plugin is 20 (or 60 for a long, detailed request). On the free plan, Orca pauses when you run out until the daily reset. Paid plans keep going on the fast model.

About the free plan

1 GB, up to 4 players, 10 AI credits per day, no card. A free server pauses when no one's online and wakes when you start it. Your world is kept. Curated presets are included; custom plugin generation and arbitrary mod installs are paid features.

Regions

Pick where your server runs when you create it. Choose the region closest to most of your friends for the lowest ping. Live regions:

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธUS East~25ms NYC
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธUS West~25ms LA
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งUK~20ms London

More regions are coming. Pricing is the same everywhere. You set the region at create time; moving a server to another region later is not supported yet, so pick the one closest to your group when you start.

Affiliates & creators

Two ways to partner with Orca. Both pay the same: people who sign up through you take 20% off their first payment, and you earn 50% of what they spend in their first 30 days, paid once per customer. Commission applies to paid plans.

FAQ

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan gives you a 1 GB server for up to 4 players with no credit card. A free server pauses when no one's online and wakes when you start it. Your world is kept. Upgrade to a paid plan for an always-on server.

Do I need a credit card?

Not for the free plan. You only add a card when you upgrade for always-on hosting, more RAM, and more AI credits.

How do I sign in?

With Google or Discord. One click, no setup form.

Java and Bedrock?

Java on every plan. Bedrock crossplay is a Pro+ add-on with a dedicated IP: on a Paper server Orca installs Geyser and Floodgate, and Bedrock players (phone, console, tablet) join the same world on UDP port 19132. Bedrock needs a dedicated IP because, unlike Java, it can't share one address across servers.

What about big modpacks?

Browse 6,000+ modpacks and pick a plan with enough RAM. Heavy packs like ATM10 want Pro (16 GB) or Max (32 GB).

Where does the catalogue come from?

Browse indexes 39,000+ projects, mostly from Modrinth, with search and filters by type, loader, and category.
